Biography
An American writer, born in Pennsylvania in the United States, he moved to the Midwest, and soon became a correspondent in Chicago. He then joined the US Army in World War I, and his service was in France. After the war, he wrote a number of short stories, publishing two: Hang It...Read more All in 1921, and Rope in 1923 in the magazine The Smart Set, then he settled in New York, where he turned to playwriting. His credits include His Girl Friday, Wuthering Heights, and The Scoundrel. He died on April 21, 1956.
