An American actress, born on March 20, 1913 in Seneca, South Dakota. She attended the University of Manitoba, as well as Hart House, where she developed her acting skills. Evelyn started her career by working on radio for the BBC and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. In 1932, she appeared on Pasadena Community Playhouse in California. Evelyn began performing on Broadway in 1941. She also participated in a number of films, including Rear Window (1954), Giant (1956), and The Brothers Karamazov (1958). She died of cancer, in New York City, on May 7, 1967.
