He was a British composer, arranger, and soundtrack composer, born in London, England. He is known for Pluto's Blue Note (1947), Cinderella (1950), and Alice in Wonderland (1951). He won an Oscar in 1942 for Best Music, Scoring of a Musical Picture for Dumbo.
