An American actress, born on November 5, 1864 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She is best known for her roles in many classic motion pictures. She made her acting debut in 1880, at the age of sixteen. Her first appearance in Hollywood was in 1916. Her notable films include David Copperfield (1935), Captain Blood (1935), Camille (1936), Drums Along the Mohawk (1939) and The Blue Bird (1940). She died on May 30, 1944 in her hometown of Gloucester at the age of 79.
