French actor and director, born in Sour El Ghozlane, Algeria. He starred in numerous films over a career spanning decades, making his cinematic debut in Elena and Her Men (1956). His famous works included Le triporteur (1957), Illegal Cargo (1958), Le Beau Serge (1958), and Les yeux de l'amour (1959). He died on May 30, 2007, at his home, at the age of 74, after a long illness.
