An American actress, born in Tacoma, Washington, on April 19, 1937. She began her career as a radio singer and vaudeville dancer when she was just a child, and was picked up by Universal Studios, at the age of 5, to appear in the movie Mister Big (1943). She later moved to MGM and worked as a supporting actress in the films The Unfinished Dance (1947) and Love Is Better (1952), after which she turned to television, appearing in the classic family series Father Knows Best in 1954. In the seventies, she began a new phase in her career with the series The Odd Couple (1970), and continued her television work with great success, interspersed with some film appearances. Her most notable work includes Father Knows Best (1954-1960), The Andy Griffith Show (1960-1961), Pretty Woman (1990), and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991).
