A Spanish actress, born in Barahona, Dominican Republic, on June 6, 1912. Montez studied at the Sacred Heart Convent in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain. Among her most important works are Sudan (1945), Arabian Nights (1942), Cobra Woman (1944), and Gypsy Wildcat (1944). She drowned while taking a bath after suffering a heart attack and died at the age of 39.
