An American actress, born on July 26, 1879, in Mills Township, Bond County, Illinois, USA. She made her debut on Broadway in 1926 and appeared in supporting roles in most of her films. She is best known for Gone with the Wind (1939), Bringing Up Baby (1938), and The Madonna's Secret (1946). She died on January 29, 1954, in Santa Monica, California, USA.
