British actress, born on November 13, 1906 in the United Kingdom. Her mother was French and her older sister, Angela Baddeley was also an actress. She made her debut in 1927. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in A Room Upstairs (1959), and her appearance in the film was only for two minutes and 19 seconds, making it the shortest role nominated for an Academy Award. She died on August 19, 1986, in Los Angeles, due to a stroke.
