An American singer-songwriter, actress, and producer, born on March 26, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She graduated from high school in 1962. At the age of fifteen, Diana joined the Primettes, a vocal group, which was later renamed the Supremes, whereupon the group achieved great success and was signed by the notable record label Mowtown. As an actress, Ross is best known for Lady Sings the Blues (1972), Mahogany (1975), and The Wiz (1978).
