An American actor, born in Brooklyn, New York, on December 20, 1905. Albert Dekker began his artistic career through theatrical work in 1927, and within a few years, he became a prominent star on Broadway. Ten years later, he made his film debut in The Great Garrick (1937), and in 1944 he won a seat in the California State Assembly. In 1950, he started his television work and also continued to work in cinema and theater. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for his television work. Among his most notable films are East of Eden (1955), Kiss Me Deadly (1955), and The Wild Bunch (1969). He died in Hollywood, California, on May 5, 1968, and was found hanged in the bathroom of his house.
