A Czech writer, born in Plzeň, Czech Republic. He is the son of the writer Josef Koenigsmark and painter Alena Koenigsmarková. He studied stonemasonry and graduated from the Secondary Technical School of Stonemasonry and Sculpture in Hořice. He then graduated from the dramaturgy department at FAMU, worked briefly at the Barrandov film studio, and also worked as a freelance writer, writing films such as Slippers of Happiness in 1988. He wrote several television works, mostly for Slovak television, and was known for works such as V rannej hmle (1991) and Josephine (2000). He also wrote several plays.
