A Polish director, photographer, and actor, who completed his film studies at the National Film School in Łódź, Poland, in the 1970s. He left Poland in 1980 but returned in 1983. In the 1980s and early 1990s, he worked in several production studios in Poland. In 1997 he was named "Man of the Year" by the Polish magazine Życie. He also worked on several films by major Polish directors.
