An American actor, born in Owatonna, Minnesota, USA, on June 18, 1914. Marshall won two Primetime Emmy Awards in 1962, 1963. His most important roles are in Nixon (1995), Superman ll (1980), National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1988), and 12Angry Men (1957). Marshall attended Mechanical Arts High School in St. Paul in 1932 and attended Carleton College and the University of Minnesota. Marshall was famous for playing roles of presidents, ministers, politicians, or ambassadors. His personal life has always been surrounded by mystery and he died in Bedford, New York, USA on August 24, 1998 of lung cancer.
