An Iraqi Kurdish writer and film director, who specialized in cinema while working as an interpreter in Brussels. His short film Land of the Heroes (2010) won the Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. His short films, such as Baghdad Messi (2012) and Bad Hunter (2014), received attention from festivals, as both films were longlisted for Oscar nominations. His first feature film is Zagros (2017).
