A Palestinian film director, born on June 7, 1985, in Germany. He lives in Brussels. Rakan studied cinema, theater, and psychology in Lebanon and then received his film training at the Asian Film Academy in South Korea. He wrote and directed several short films, including Roubama, which was an official selection at the Locarno Film Festival in 2012, while his short film Bonboné received many awards at several international film festivals, such as the Küstendorf Film and Music Festival and the 40th Moscow International Film Festival. His short film Trumpets in the Sky explores cinema as a meditative medium of visual poetry, metaphor, and mythology.
