He was an American actor, born on March 24, 1923 in Washington, United States. He showed an early interest in performing during his days at Washington High School prior to America's entry into World War II. He began his artistic career in 1944 which spanned more than 42 years. He is best known for the movies Anatomy of a Murder, The Graduate, and The Drowning Pool. He died on September 1, 1986 in Washington, North Carolina, USA.
