An English actress, born on November 24, 1915 in Worsley, Lancashire. She was raised in Harrogate, West Riding of Yorkshire and was one of three children (she had two brothers). She studied music, dance and theater. She made her debut under the spotlight in the late 1930s. While working in the arts theatre, she met a colleague actor Trevor Howard, whom she married on September 8, 1944. They remained married until his death in 1988. She participated in a number of various works, including: Clash of Loyalties (1982) and Adam and Evalyn (1949). She died on September 27, 2001 in UK.
