English actress born on July 11, 1896 in Manchester, United Kingdom. She appeared in television and film roles between 1936 and 1964. She made her screen debut in the 1936 film Tomorrow We Live. She began her career as a soprano and musician at the age of 14. She has featured a variety of roles, including: The Wicked Lady (1945), Kipps (1941) and Sea Wife (1957). She died on July 4, 1964.
