An American writer, born on January 17, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is the daughter of comedian Don Sherman and dancer Maybin Hewes. In 2018, she won Emmy Awards in the categories of Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Pilot (2017). Amy is the first woman in history to win in the comedy writing and directing categories at the same Primetime Emmys. Her works include Bunheads (2012-2013) and Roseanne (1990-1994).
