An American actor, born on February 21, 1896 in Newark, New Jersey, USA. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, graduating in 1923. He is best known for his roles in Foreign Correspondent (1940), Meet Boston Blackie (1941), Man-Eater of Kumaon (1948), and Gunsmoke (1966-1975). He died on March 6, 1979 in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
