A Malawian inventor, engineer, and author, who gained fame in his own country in 2001 when he built a wind-powered turbine to power multiple electrical appliances at his family home in Wimbe using blue gum trees, bicycle parts, and materials gathered at a local junkyard, after which he built a solar-powered water pump, providing the first drinking water in his village, as well as two more wind-powered turbines. A film titled The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind (2019) was adapted from his book of the same title.
