An English actress, born in Swaziland (now Eswatini), to South African parents, and has lived in Botswana, Kenya, and Uganda. She arrived in England as a refugee in 1977, lived in Suffolk, then moved to London and began her career at the National Theater in London. Her most important works include the series Made for Love (2021), the films Mary Poppins Returns (2018), The Incident (2015), Fallout (2008), After Thomas (2006), and the short film Out of Darkness (2013).
