A British actor, born on 23 April, 1907 in India. He received his education in Scotland, where he was encouraged to act by his headmaster. After one year of studying at RADA (1924-1925), he appeared in repertory theater. He made his film debut in 1936 and had an active career until WWII. After the war, he resumed his career and appeared in several roles, especially those of comedic nature. His most notable works include: The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men (1952), A Challenge for Robin Hood (1967), and David Copperfield (1970). He died on 27 March, 1983 in Spain.
