American actress, born on February 28, 1882, in Melrose, Massachusetts, USA. She was one of the most popular opera singers in the early 20s. Her debut was in 1901 at the Royal Opera House in Berlin, in the role of Marguerite in Faust. She was married to silent screen actor Lou Tellegen. During the 1920s, The New York Times included her in its list of the Ten Greatest Women in America. She is known for Flame of the Desert (1919) and The Woman and the Puppet (1920). She died on March 11, 1967, in Ridgefield, Connecticut, USA.
