A British actress and writer, born in England. She attended high school at the Midlands. After her father died of cancer, she learned the sign language and volunteered at the local charity Deaflinks. She began her acting career with small recurring roles in TV series such as Holby City and Waterloo Road. She is also known for the film The Silent Child (2017), for which she won an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film, alongside her husband Chris Overton.
