A British actor, born on October 16, 1947, in Gillingham, United Kingdom. He studied at the University of Bristol, graduating in the late 1960s. He began his career on stage in 1969 with the regional theater and joined the National Theatre. His works include Penelope Pulls It Off (1975), The Golden Bowl (2000), Russian Dolls (2005), and Amazing Grace (2006).
