Irish playwright and actor, born on February 14, 1910 in Dublin, Ireland. His family moved to London where he attended Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His works include: Oliver!, The Dark Crystal, and Elizabeth. He died on January 21, 2001 in London.
