An American actor and dancer, born in Germany to an opera singer mother and a pianist father. He immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of two, and trained in ballet in San Francisco, then studied theater arts at the University of Washington. His cousin is actress Andrea Groener. He won the 2011 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in the play The Madness of King George, which was shown at the Chicago Theatre, and was nominated for the same award in the category of Best Supporting Role in the play The March.
