A Romanian actress, director, and writer, born in Bucharest, as Ruxandra Ecaterina Vladescu Olt. She married French actor and writer Marcel Dalio (1936-1939) and they divorced. Among her most important works are Target (1985), Mademoiselle de La Ferte (1949), and Land Without Stars (1946). She began her career in the early thirties and worked in French, Czech, and German films, then settled in the French capital, Paris. When Nazi Germany occupied France in World War II. Holt joined the French resistance, led by Charles de Gaulle, and became an active member of the resistance forces. In the sixties, she worked on French television, directing and writing. She died in Paris, on October 26, 2005.
