She is a Lebanese-American director who was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1983. She is a geographer who uses film and other media to explore the history of labor movements in the Arab world and their relationship to South America, feminist internationalism, and transformative potential. Her film, A Feeling Greater Than Love (2017) received the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
