An American actress, born on March 9, 1903, in Defiance, Ohio, USA. She appeared on Broadway and in film and television from 1920 to 1980. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University, after which she began acting at the regional theater at Cleveland Play House. Later, she studied acting in the American Laboratory Theater. She is known for When Harry Met Sally... (1989), The Story on Page One (1959), and Studs Lonigan (1960). She died on March 29, 1995, in Lake Hill, New York, USA.
