A Spanish actor of Argentine origins, born in the city of Vigo in Spain, to a father who worked as an engineer. He moved to the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina in 1937 because of his father, who wanted to stay away from the horrors of the Spanish Civil War. He completed his primary, and secondary studies, and enrolled in medical school, but during his second year there, at the request of Enrique Porras, one of the most prominent playwrights of the time, Ignacio joined the college's theater team. He began acting in secondary roles and later joined the team of the Institute of Modern Art. Director Marcelo Lavallee contributed to revealing his talent, which led to his participation in several cinematic works.
