An American actress, who was born on December 29, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated from Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1950. She studied drama at Northwestern University. She began her film career in 1957. She is famous for her roles in The Miracle Worker (1962), Advise & Consent (1962), Lipstick (1976), and Bay Cove (1987).
