An American film producer, fashion designer, and actor, born on June 4, 1906, in the United States. He began his acting career on the Boston stage as a teenager, then moved to Broadway at the age of 21. He had a role in the production of Taming of the Shrew, in New York City. He moved to Hollywood and became an actor who appeared in 1930 and 1940 before becoming a director in 1944. He died on December 14, 1966 in Santa Monica.
