A British author and politician, who became a member of Parliament in 1969. He married Mary Archer, a solar scientist. His first two novels were not very successful, but his third novel achieved ample success. The novel was titled "Kane and Abel" (1979), and it reached number one on The New York Times bestsellers list. He wrote more than 30 novels. He appeared as himself in The Last 100 Days of Diana (2017).
