An Indian actor, who appeared in English, Hindi, and Bengali language films. He was born on October 15, 1946, in Kolkata, India. He studied at St. Edmund's School, Shillong, graduated in English Literature from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata, and obtained a postgraduate degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University. He started his career in 1977 and participated in various works, including A Passage to India (1984) and Debata (1990).
