A British actor born on June 5, 1905 in Stepney County, London. His career began in 1930 on the Shakespearean theater. He worked at the British Embassy in Moscow during World War II. After leaving his position and returning to England, he stopped in the United States and was offered a role in Hollywood films in 1941. In his later years, he taught acting, co-starred as a lead actor, and became known for The Jungle Book (1967) and London Blackout Murders (1943). He died on May 24, 1996 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
