An American writer and director, born on April 23, 1960, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, USA. She went to Harvard University and majored in visual studies. Her parents are Joan Micklin Silver and Raphael D. Silver. She is known for Old Enough (1984), He Said, She Said (1991), and Vital Signs (1990). She received a Fellowship for Fiction from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 2017.
