Japanese writer, born on March 13, 1948, in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. She made her debut in 1966 with the short story Dorobō Tenshi. She won her first Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo in 1977. Her works include Genji monogatari: Asaki yume mishi (2000), and Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern (2017).
