William Collier Sr. was an American writer and actor born in New York City, on November 12, 1864, as William Morrence, and died in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, on January 13, 1944, of pneumonia. William Collier Sr.'s major works include Madison Square Garden (1932), A Successful Failure (1934), Cain and Mabel (1936), and Going Places (1938).
