A British actor born on October 16, 1902 in the United Kingdom. He served in the Royal Artillery. His artistic career began at the Shakespearean theater, and in later years, he appeared in professional roles in cinema and television. He was the father of actresses Phoebe Nichols and Kate Nichols. He is known for Night of the Eagle (1962), The Hasty Heart (1949), and The Franchise Affair (1951). He died on February 22, 1997 in London in the United Kingdom.
