A British actor, born in the United Kingdom. He served in the Royal Artillery. His artistic career began in Shakespearean theater, and later on, he appeared in professional roles in cinema and television. He was the father of actresses Phoebe Nicholls and Kate Nicholls. He is known for Night of the Eagle (1962), The Hasty Heart (1949), and The Franchise Affair (1951). He died on February 22, 1977 in London, United Kingdom.
