An American actress, singer, and show dancer of Russian descent. She was born on June 21, 1921 in New York State to a Jewish family and graduated from Julia Richman High School. Holliday started her life as a supporting dancer in nightclub shows, then moved to Broadway theaters and presented many successful shows. She had some acting experiences in the late thirties, but her real debut was in 1944 through the movie Winged Victory, and she is famous for Bells Are Ringing, Adam's Rib, and It Should Happen to You. Holiday won many awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She died on June 7, 1965, New York City.
