A Russian actor and writer, born in Liban, Russia. His most important works are Sally in Our Alley (1927), Private Izzy Murphy (1926), Broken Hearts of Hollywood (1926), and Branded (1950). He was primarily a screen actor, playing leading roles in silent dramas, and smaller supporting roles in sound movies in the 1950s. He died of a heart attack in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on November 18, 1954.
