A British actor, born on May 23, 1928, in the British county of Cambridgeshire. He studied English at Trinity College, Oxford. There he joined the Oxford University Drama Society and decided to work in acting. His artistic career spanned more than 50 years. His artistic beginnings were mostly in the theater, and his first role was as a substitute actor in the play “Relative Values” at the Savoy Theatre. In 1960, he joined the British Royal Court Theater Company, where he appeared in more than a dozen plays, including Taste of Honey, the play he performed on the famous American Broadway theater in New York City in 1960. From his works that gained international fame: A Man for All Seasons and Chariots of Fire (1981). He passed away at the age of 85, on the 25th of october 2013 after suffering from pneumonia.
