American actor born in The Bronx, New York, on 3 November 1919. He's known for Paths of Glory (1957), What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962), Hang 'Em High (1968), and Billy Jack (1971). He has appeared in 50 films and made 135 TV appearances. He died on 2 August 1994 in Canada of a heart attack, at age 74.
