An American artist, born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA. He studied painting and sculpture at the University of Alabama, and obtained two degrees. After graduating, he worked as a teacher, then moved to the American capital, Washington, and worked in painting, photography, sculpture, and acting. He is famous for his photography of people of African descent, his photos of cityscapes, rural scenes, and portraits. Among his artistic works are (The Family) in 1966, (Black Boy) in 1968, and (Self-Portrait) in 1972.
