Egyptian writer born in Cairo. He received his BA from the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University in 1959, followed by a Master's degree in History from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University in 1970, and a PhD in the same subject from the same alma mater in 1973. He worked as a teacher at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University (Khartoum Campus) from 1973-1981. He was also a professor at Cairo University, Faculty of Arts from 1981 till 1998. He participated in adapting several Historical works such as the series Imams of Guidance and Great People in History.
