British writer, director and producer, born on 1966, in Nelson, Lancashire, England. He graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1991 and was a doctor for three years before he became a writer. He was awarded the OBE in the 2021 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to Television Drama. His notable works include: The Grimleys (1999-2001), Bodies (2004-2006), and Bodyguard (2018).
