A French film actress, born in Pantin, France. She became a stage actress in Paris in 1918, and director Carl Theodor Dreyer saw her work in an amateur theater and chose her to appear in his film The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928), where she played Joan of Arc. She died in Buenos Aires on December 12, 1946.
